Background
Dave and Val are former members of Clearcreek
Chapel. In 1994 they moved to Grand Rapids in order for Dave to attend
Seminary in preparation for the Mission Field. While at Clearcreek
Chapel, they both were active in various programs: AWANA, Music
Ministry, and Missions Committee. Individually, Dave served as both a
Deacon and later, as an Elder, while Val worked as Church Secretary, and
in VBS. Dave spent several years in Brazil as a youngster; his parents
served as missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions.
Current
Dave,
Val and their three children have been on the field in Bauru, Brazil
since December 2000. Following a year of language training with a
friend of the Smallman family, Dave, Val and their team members, the
Blazers, held their first service at Comunidade Batista in March 2002.
The church continues to grow as new studies and ministries are added.
They also share responsibilty for The English Bible Hour where
they provide the locals an opportunity to expand their knowledge of
English. Dave and Val (and team) use this time to share the Gospel.
