Dave and Patty
Dave and Patty have
served with ABWE for several years in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
During this time they have been involved in planting several churches.
Dave also utilizes a small airplane to carry the evangelism program into
interior towns. These locations are far enough away that it is not
practical to make the trip by car. Clearcreek Chapel has had the honor
of sending two work teams to assist the Zemmers. The first (in 1994)
erected a building for one of the young churches, and the second (in
1996) built a parsonage for another of the local churches. They have
been building a new a church and ministering in the interior city of
Barreiras the last several years.
Dave and Patty have
additional ties to Clearcreek Chapel. Patty is the sister of Janie
Street (our former Pastor's wife). Their children, Jonathan & his wife
Amanda, Ben and Rebekah all currently worship and minister at the
Chapel.
ABWE
The
Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) was founded in 1927
as the Association of Baptists for Evangelism in the Orient (ABEO). In
1939, missionaries were sent to Peru and the name was changed to ABWE.
Between the end of World War 2 and 1970, ABWE's missionary force
increased seven-fold and ten countries were added to the list of
ministry fields. Currently the ABWE family numbers over 1,000
members, placed in nearly 40 countries. ABWE has had a presence in
Brazil since 1942.
