Adult Bible Education

The mission of Adult Bible Education is to provide teaching and learning in order to equip and mature our church body in Christlikeness so that the community is grounded in sound doctrine. We do this by equipping the saints through Christ-centered theological education for the ministry of building up the body of Christ, and of expanding the gospel beyond our community.

Spring 2024 Classes

Starting March 3. Ending May 26.

Do You Believe?

This class will study 12 historic Christian doctrines and how they engage and transform the human heart and mind. We will unpack each doctrine and present its relevance to the Christian life. This class will explore topics such as the doctrine of God, the holiness of God, and the doctrine of Scripture. The biblical truths about God, humanity, and the world are not merely about knowing more–they are also about loving God and making sense of this life and the life to come. But what happens when there is a disparity between what believers confess and how they live?

This class meets in the auditorium.

The Things of Earth

The things of earth–they surround us on every side. They compete for our attention. They occupy our minds and delight our hearts. What are we to do with the things of earth? Embrace them? Reject them? Use them? Look at them with suspicious eyes? Enjoy them with a twinge of guilt? And what happens to the things of earth when Jesus shows up? Do they grow dim in the light of his glory and grace? In these ten (video) sessions, Joe Rigney explores the often-perceived tension between enjoying God’s creation and enjoying God himself, with the aim of helping his audience find joy in God in a world full of wonderful things. The objective of this class is to help us better recognize and understand the gospel, our ultimate purpose and how we can best serve and glorify God through “things of the earth.” This is the second and final quarter for this class.

This class meets in room 133.

Understanding the Heart

The aim of the class is to develop a Biblical Theology of the heart. We will work through a number of texts in a canonical theology of the heart. To summarize and simplify the complexity of the Bible's data, several graphical models will be given to illustrate the teaching of the Scripture.
